CICA International Conference fast approaching

The 2017 Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) International Conference is set to offer strategies for defying business disruption with captive insurance.

The conference, held between 12 and 14 March in the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, California, will provide 23 hours of educational sessions for attendees.

One conference session, presented by Skip Myers, partner of Morris, Manning and Martin LLP and James McIntyre, partner of McIntyre & Lemon, will provide an insight into the new political landscape and how it will impact captives.

Myers said: “Big change is underway in Washington and change provides opportunity.”

Other sessions will cover topics such as minimising disruption by preparing for the new accounting standards, translating risk analysis into an effective captive insurance program, funding medical stop loss through cell captives, and understanding the changing federal and state tax landscape.

This year’s conference keynote speaker is Lindsey Pollak, an expert on millennials in the workplace, who will talk about how members of all generations can thrive in today’s multigenerational work environment, and set the stage for effectively addressing change.

Attendees of the conference will include captive owners, potential captive owners, captive managers, risk managers, domicile regulators and service providers.
