ICCIE opens nominations for captive education award

The International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) invites nominations for its Captive Education Leader Award until 31 October. Nominations can be made through the ICCIE website. The award is an annual recognition for an individual who has made outstanding contributions as a captive insurance educator. Nominees must be actively working or recently retired, and anyone may submit a nomination. The nomination form requires a statement of up to 250 words. A committee of captive insurance professionals reviews the nominations and forwards recommendations to the ICCIE board of directors, which makes the final selection. The recipient is to be announced in 2027. The inaugural award was made in 2026 to Michael Douglas, ACI, director of business development for the Americas in captive insurance at Aon, who teaches the ICCIE core course on reinsurance and other risk transfer mechanisms.
