RT Specialty and Ryan Alternative Risk, the wholesale broking and alternative risk divisions of Ryan Specialty, expand RT FLEX, a proprietary follow-line facility, across property, casualty, construction and executive and professional liability lines. The facility launched in 2025 to address excess casualty placements and now spans three product verticals. Current lines are property, builder’s risk, excess casualty, construction, professional liability, directors and officers liability, errors and omissions liability, employment practices liability, fiduciary liability and medical professional liability. RT FLEX follows established market leaders, providing up to 50 per cent of a controlled layer subject to underwriting approval and capacity availability, and aligning with the pricing, terms and conditions set by lead carriers. It draws on the underwriting infrastructure of Ryan Alternative Risk and the distribution platform of RT Specialty, and is available exclusively through RT Specialty. The facility is supported by centralised underwriting oversight, actuarial resource, portfolio management and analytics, and addresses middle-market and large-account property, complex construction projects, excess casualty programmes and professional and executive liability risks. Ben Newton, chief underwriting officer of Ryan Alternative Risk, says: "By pairing access to capacity with the strength of RT Specialty’s distribution platform, we’ve built a scalable solution that helps brokers address property, casualty, and professional and executive liability placements through one coordinated process." Ryan Alternative Risk provides structured solutions, single parent and group captives, fronting, specialty healthcare, specialty finance and other risk management services, and states that its disciplines cover underwriting, actuarial, accounting, reinsurance, and captive insurance company formation and management.
