HDI Global appoints Leroy as managing director for France

HDI Global appoints Delphine Leroy as managing director for France with effect from 1 January 2027. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval. Leroy succeeds Jean-Marie Haquette, who retires after a career of nearly four decades in insurance and reinsurance. Haquette has been managing director of HDI Global France since September 2022, and held senior positions at international insurance and reinsurance companies before joining. Leroy arrives with nearly 30 years in the insurance industry, most recently as general manager for France at QBE. Earlier roles include managing director for France and head of South Europe at CNA Hardy, and leadership positions across underwriting, distribution, risk management and executive management. HDI Global states that France is a key market within its multinational network, and that the transition is designed to maintain continuity for clients and brokers. David Hullin, a member of the executive board of HDI Global SE, holds responsibility for international regions outside the DACH countries and the US, and for multinational programmes. HDI Global is a corporate and specialty lines insurer writing for small and medium-sized enterprises, industrial companies and middle-market and corporate clients. It operates a network covering more than 200 countries and territories through branch offices, subsidiaries, affiliated companies and network partners, and leads around 5,400 multinational programmes. The insurer also runs a captive practice. On its own account, HDI Global advises on assessing captive solutions and setting up international captive programmes through a dedicated team of financial, actuarial and legal professionals, and states that it has more than 100 active captive programmes. HDI Global comprises the risk carriers of the corporate and specialty division of Talanx Group. The division employed more than 5,500 people in 2025 and generated approximately EUR 10.3 billion of gross insurance revenue under IFRS 17. Standard & Poor’s assigns the Talanx Primary Group a financial strength rating of ‘AA-’ with a stable outlook, and AM Best assigns ‘A+’ with a stable outlook.
