Lockton appoints Cristina Scenna as chief operating officer for its Canadian business. Lockton says Scenna will work alongside the Canadian leadership team to strengthen client service capabilities and build the infrastructure and operating model needed to support growth as the firm expands across the country. Scenna arrives with nearly nine years of commercial insurance experience, most recently as chief growth officer for Marsh Canada, where the role covered national growth and industry strategy, business development, industry leadership and growth enablement. Before moving into insurance, Scenna spent seven years at PwC working on strategy, transformation, business operations and client advisory. Scenna says: "That commitment to clients and long-term thinking is what attracted me to Lockton and the opportunity to help build its Canadian business." Lockton is a privately owned insurance brokerage with nearly 15,000 staff doing business in more than 160 countries. Its Canadian business operates as Lockton Brokers, ULC, trading as Lockton Canada, and is led by chief executive officer Stéphane Lespérance. Lockton operates a captive and alternative risk transfer practice offering captive feasibility studies, domicile management, captive licensing and incorporation, regulatory consulting and filing, captive management services, and reinsurance design, advice and placement. The firm places its captive specialists in Kansas City, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and London.
