The Huntington National Bank has expanded its captive insurance banking capabilities, naming Jordan Mosher as head of captive insurance banking. The expansion builds on the bank's existing work with captive insurance clients and its reinsurance trust platform. The specialised team helps captive insurance clients manage collateral needs through solutions such as letters of credit and reinsurance trusts, while connecting clients to the wider Huntington platform. According to the bank, the move brings additional specialisation, leadership and coordination to its support for captive insurance companies of varying sizes and other alternative risk transfer structures, including global captives seeking streamlined access to banking, collateral and risk management solutions. Mosher previously helped build Huntington's reinsurance trust vertical and will work with leaders across the bank's Global Specialty Products group. Before taking up the role, Mosher spent more than eight years at Huntington Private Bank as senior vice president of institutional asset management and trust, and director of institutional partnerships. Mosher earlier worked in investment management at Key Private Bank in Vermont, with an emphasis on asset management for captive insurance companies. Mosher is also treasurer and a board member of the North Carolina Captive Insurance Association. Joe McDonald will serve as managing director, supporting the continued development and delivery of the bank's captive insurance solutions. McDonald was previously executive vice president and director of captive consulting at Captives.Insure, and before that director of captives at the South Carolina Department of Insurance. Andy Arduini, senior managing director of Global Specialty Products at Huntington, says: "We've served captive insurance clients for decades, and this expansion reflects our continued investment in specialised capabilities that meet increasingly complex client needs. "By combining experienced people, a strong platform and Huntington's balance sheet, we're positioned to deliver a more comprehensive model for clients across the captive insurance industry." Mosher adds: "Captive insurance companies need partners who understand the industry, can move with speed and certainty, and can deliver collateral solutions as part of a broader banking relationship. "Our goal is to make it easier for clients to access the solutions they need through one coordinated team." Huntington Bancshares, the bank's parent, is a regional bank holding company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, with US$284 billion in assets.
