Sedgwick launches Carrier and Captive Solutions, a new entity providing claims administration and related services to carriers, captives, risk retention groups (RRGs), managing general agents (MGAs) and managing general underwriters (MGUs). The unit is led by Jason Rogers, managing director, carrier and captive solutions, whose appointment Sedgwick announced in August. Emily Fink, president, growth markets, oversees the practice. Sedgwick says the unit is supported by more than 1,000 dedicated professionals, including adjusters, client service teams and data and analytics staff. For captives and RRGs, the offering covers captive-specific claims handling, member instructions, board reporting, performance analytics and the closure of old-year and tail claims. The wider service line also includes claims administration and delegated authority governance for carrier programmes, outsourced claims operations, end-to-end claims handling for MGA and MGU programme business, legacy claims solutions, and accident and health benefits administration. Sedgwick points to the growth of alternative risk as the driver for the launch. According to the company, the global captive market is projected to grow from US$82 billion in 2025 to US$120 billion by 2035, while the US MGA market reached US$128 billion in premium in 2025, up 12 per cent on 2024. Rogers says: "The industry has shifted. Capacity is increasingly viewed as a commodity, while operational execution has become the true differentiator. "The organizations that win will be those that can manage risk more effectively, leverage data more strategically and deliver a better experience for their stakeholders." Fink says: "Sedgwick offers a broad range of solutions designed to help carriers, captives and MGAs/MGUs manage claims complexity, improve performance, control costs, and support long-term growth. "With the industry's largest team of dedicated professionals, a claims dataset five times larger than that of the nearest competitor, and trusted strategic partnerships with more than 130 carriers, we can provide a level of depth this market hasn't had before." Sedgwick has more than 33,000 employees and 10,000 clients across 80 countries. Its majority shareholder is The Carlyle Group.
