HUB International appoints Lori Ross as captive specialist for Central and Northern California. Ross focuses on two areas in the role. She supports the growth of the Ascend Group Captive, which provides resources to the vegetation management and tree care industry intended to improve safety and reduce insurance costs, and she partners with HUB producers to provide captive and alternative risk strategies for clients. She joins from Beyond Risk, where she worked in strategic partnerships and marketing for a little over a year. Ross spent a decade as marketing director at York Alternative Risk Solutions, providing marketing support for captive insurance programmes including its restaurant franchise, renewable energy and growers captives. She also held business development roles in the alternative risk solutions division at Specialty Captive Group, working on restaurant, agricultural and agency captive programmes, supporting broker partners and onboarding new brokers into the programmes. She has more than 25 years of experience across sales and marketing, customer service, captive insurance, client relations and staff training, and has participated in captive board meetings and in underwriting, loss control, finance and claims committees.
