Ryan Specialty appoints Dave Przesiek as president and chief executive officer of Ryan Specialty Benefits, its benefits division, effective immediately. Przesiek succeeds John Zern, who leaves the division to pursue other interests. He was most recently chief revenue officer at the division, which he joined nearly three years ago through its largest acquisition. Ryan Specialty says he has been integral in creating and developing the division’s strategy. Przesiek has worked in the health and benefits industry for more than 30 years, across the self-insurance market. He led the launch of the captive programme at AccuRisk Solutions, joining Ryan Specialty when it acquired the firm in 2023. He spent 10 years before that at Fallon Health as a senior vice president on its executive team, with responsibility for product line performance across commercial lines including its third-party administration business and exchange products. He was president of HealthSmart Re and of Medical Claims Service, regional vice president at Benesight, and senior vice president at North American Health Plans. Ryan Specialty Benefits provides specialty employee benefits solutions for retail agents, brokers and third-party administrators, combining underwriting, actuarial support and clinical expertise across level funded plans, transitional stop loss, and single parent and group captives. Pat Ryan, executive chairman of Ryan Specialty, says: "Dave has been instrumental to the foundation of our Benefits platform and has proven himself as a strong and inspirational leader. Having joined us from nearly the inception of RSB, Dave has built key products and solutions that are in the marketplace today and understands the important trends shaping healthcare." On Zern’s departure, Ryan says: "We thank John for his services and wish him well in his future endeavours."
