The Puerto Rico Financial Services Forum opens registration for its sixth edition, taking place on 2 and 3 November at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan. The forum is hosted by the Puerto Rico International Insurers Association (PRIIA) and the Puerto Rico International Banks Association (PRIBA), and brings together executives, regulators, institutional investors, insurers, international banks, compliance leaders, legal experts and government officials from Puerto Rico, the US, Latin America and the Caribbean. Captive insurance features on the programme alongside artificial intelligence in insurance and financial crime compliance, fintech and banking-as-a-service, correspondent banking, anti-money laundering and sanctions, digital assets, regulatory and law enforcement priorities, and investment strategies. Christina Kindstedt of Advantage Insurance Management presents case studies on how different businesses use captives, and a panel on the captive owner, manager and attorney relationship features Oscar Angarita of Kredit Plus, Rubén Gely of IICG and Antonio Ramírez of McConnell Valdés. David White of Morgan White Group delivers a keynote on Act 130 and the M Class, and Angelo Colombo of AIG joins a panel on the reinsurance outlook. Mónica Rodríguez, commissioner of financial institutions, and Suzette Del Valle, commissioner of insurance, are among the regulators speaking. Investigative journalist Ignacio Gómez delivers the keynote address. Hugo Cordova, president of PRIIA, says: "More than a conference, the Puerto Rico Financial Services Forum has established itself as a high-level networking destination where decision-makers and influential leaders connect, exchange ideas and explore new opportunities for collaboration and growth." Eduardo Colón, president of PRIBA, says: "The Puerto Rico Financial Services Forum continues to strengthen Puerto Rico's position as a hub for international banks and insurers, while creating a platform for dialogue around innovation, regulation, and the future of the financial industry." The organisers say further speakers, sessions and announcements follow in the coming weeks.
