VCIA opens call for sessions for 2027 conference

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) opens its submission window for session and discussion group proposals for the 2027 VCIA Annual Conference. The deadline for submissions is the end of Friday 9 October, through the association’s submission portal. VCIA invites industry leaders, risk management professionals and subject matter experts to submit trend-focused presentation ideas. It says proposals should go beyond high-level overviews to offer current research, actionable strategies, real-world case studies and interactive formats, and that it is looking for expertise that advances captive education rather than pitches for products or services. The conference committee is particularly interested in proposals on climate and parametric risk, covering emerging coverage solutions and environmental risk strategies, and on captive evolution and maturity, including post-formation line expansion, claims management, third-party administrators and fronting structures. Other focal areas are global and cross-border strategy, benchmarking and performance data, practical applications of artificial intelligence, technology and analytics across underwriting, claims and regulatory reporting, and advanced reinsurance and fronting. The association encourages submissions featuring diverse perspectives and inclusive panel representation, and formats that prioritise audience interaction, hands-on learning or structured networking over traditional lectures. Multiple submissions from individuals or organisations are welcome. Kim McCray-Woodruff, director of learning and professional development at VCIA, is handling queries on proposal criteria.
