The Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC) announces four recipients of its 2026 Educational Scholarship Fund awards. Amiya Tahal studies mechanical engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, De-Andre Beckford accountancy and data science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Johanna Dixon film production at the University of Salford Manchester, and Shaniah Terry finance at the University of Miami. Ericia Burke also joins this year’s cohort. A 2025 IMAC scholarship recipient, Burke began her sport administration programme at Georgia State University in January 2026 following a deferred start to her studies. The scholarship fund has raised more than US$5 million since 1994, helping more than 90 Caymanian students access tertiary education. Jessica Powell, chair of the IMAC Educational Scholarship Fund committee, says: "As a former IMAC scholarship recipient, I know first-hand the difference this support can make at such an important stage in a young person's life. It is rewarding to now have the opportunity to help extend that same support to the next generation of Caymanian students." Powell adds: "Each 2026 recipient has demonstrated tremendous potential, and we are proud to support them as they pursue their studies. We look forward to following their academic path and seeing the contributions they will make to our community in the years ahead." IMAC represents the international insurance industry in the Cayman Islands and liaises with government and the regulator on the industry’s behalf.
