Guy Carpenter becomes Marsh Re, retiring a reinsurance broking name used for more than 100 years. The change takes effect on 1 September and forms part of a group-wide rebranding announced in October 2025. Parent Marsh changed its own brand from Marsh McLennan in January 2026 and switched its ticker at the same time. Under that plan, Marsh and Mercer each go to market under the Marsh brand, Guy Carpenter becomes Marsh Re, and Oliver Wyman goes to market as Oliver Wyman, a Marsh business, while its operating unit Oliver Wyman Group becomes Marsh Management Consulting. Marsh says the transition expands client access to the full range of its solutions across risk, reinsurance and capital, people and investments, and management consulting, and reinforces investments in analytics, modelling and digital platforms. Dean Klisura, president and chief executive officer of Marsh Re, says: "A hundred years of trust is the best possible foundation for what comes next, and what comes next is Marsh Re. Guy Carpenter earned its place in this market through rigorous thinking, deep relationships, and an absolute focus on clients. Marsh Re carries all of that forward, with something more: the scale, reach, and expertise of the broader Marsh organisation behind every conversation we have." Marsh Re marks the change with two publications issued ahead of the Rendez-Vous de Septembre: the 2027 Renewal Outlook, setting out the forces shaping the year ahead, and Global Specialties 2026 Market Update, a class-by-class assessment of the specialty market. The business operates from more than 70 offices across 41 countries and territories with around 3,700 staff, and placed US$75 billion in ceded premium in 2025.
