Guy Carpenter appoints Justin Ward as chief executive officer of its Pacific business, effective immediately. Ward leads and manages the reinsurance broker’s broking organisation in the Pacific region, developing business strategy for clients across the region. He reports to Tony Gallagher, chief executive officer of Guy Carpenter Asia Pacific, and works with regional leadership including James Sullivan, head of broking for Guy Carpenter Pacific. He relocates to Sydney from Singapore in July 2027 and continues as capital advisory leader for Asia Pacific, a role he has held since 2024, until that point. Ward joined Guy Carpenter in 2018 and has held senior broking positions in Sydney and Singapore. He worked before that at Insurance Australia Group, National Australia Bank and AMP in senior reinsurance, financial planning and risk advisory roles. Guy Carpenter also appoints James Beedle to the board of directors of its Pacific business, subject to regulatory approval. Beedle brings more than 36 years of reinsurance experience as both a broker and an underwriter, across London, Sydney, Tokyo and Singapore. Gallagher says: "With our strengthened management team, led by Justin in Pacific, and the addition of James to our board of directors, Guy Carpenter is well placed to help clients across Asia Pacific navigate a market shaped by elevated catastrophe risk, evolving regulation, and growing demand for tailored analytics and advisory support." Ward says: "The Pacific region is a dynamic and increasingly important part of the global reinsurance landscape; Guy Carpenter is well positioned to help clients in Australia, New Zealand and across Pacific respond with insight and discipline, enabling them to make more informed decisions and build long-term resilience."
