Aon appoints Parrish executive director in Guernsey

Aon appoints Michael Parrish as executive director of Aon Insurance Managers (Guernsey). Parrish joins the captive manager with more than 30 years of experience across captive insurance, alternative risk financing, risk management and insurance consulting, having advised multinational organisations on captive strategy, feasibility, implementation, governance and ongoing management. He returns to Aon, where he was an account manager between 1998 and 2004, working in London, Singapore and Melbourne. Parrish joins from Acumen Bermuda, where he was a business development consultant developing opportunities for the purchase of legacy and runoff portfolios and companies. He spent nine years before that at Marsh Management Services in Bermuda, most recently as senior vice president and client services leader, responsible for client service activities across the Bermuda office and acting as a board director for certain strategic clients. His earlier career included insurance manager at the Roy Hill Iron Ore Project in Western Australia, manager of insurance and risk at CITIC Pacific Mining, and consulting roles at Jardine Lloyd Thompson in Australia and Hong Kong, where he managed captive feasibility and implementation projects across Asia Pacific. He began working on captives at Johnson & Higgins in Bermuda, presenting captive feasibility studies and implementation plans to companies across the Americas. Parrish has chaired the Bermuda Captive Conference and served on the Bermuda government’s Insurance Advisory Committee. He is a regular speaker on captive and alternative risk financing topics. Karly Green, global lead recruitment business partner at Aon, says: "We’re delighted to have Michael on board and look forward to the experience, insight and leadership he will bring as we continue to grow and strengthen our captive management business."
