HDI Global reports net income of €292 million for the first half of 2026, a rise of 7 per cent on the €274 million recorded in the same period of 2025. The corporate and specialty insurer attributes the result to disciplined underwriting, lower large loss payments and an increased investment result. Insurance revenue remains stable at €5.0 billion, against €5.1 billion a year earlier, which HDI Global attributes to currency effects and underwriting discipline. The insurance service result rises 8 per cent to €465 million, from €430 million. Large loss payments fall to €92 million from €142 million, undershooting the pro rata budget for the period by €209 million. The budget was recognised in full. Natural catastrophe losses remain below budget across the first half, although the insurer reports significant man-made losses across all industries. The combined ratio improves to 90.7 per cent from 91.6 per cent. The net insurance financial and investment result before currency effects climbs to €169 million from €99 million, which HDI Global attributes to higher investment volumes and an increase in current interest income. Operating profit remains stable at €381 million, against €377 million. The division’s contribution to Talanx Group net income rises 7 per cent to €292 million. Dr Edgar Puls, CEO of HDI Global, says: “The first half of 2026 demonstrated the strength and resilience of HDI Global’s business model. “Strong operational performance and disciplined execution enabled us to further improve our results, underscoring our strategic focus on underwriting excellence.
