Jeometri secures GFSC licence for Guernsey captive PCC

Jeometri Insurance Managers (Guernsey) Limited (JIM) receives a licence from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) for Jeometri Insurance PCC Limited, a protected cell company offering clients a ring-fenced route into captive insurance in Guernsey. The PCC is licensed under The Insurance Business (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2002, as amended, and is managed by JIM. The facility is open for new cells. Darren Wadley, managing director of JIM, says: “This licence is a natural extension of Jeometri’s insurance management capability. It gives our clients a straightforward, well-governed route into captive insurance through Guernsey at lower cost and with less complexity than a standalone entity.” JIM says cell structures allow faster formation than the licensing of a standalone insurer, with administration, governance and regulatory reporting centralised in the core and shared across cells. Statutory ring-fencing segregates the assets and liabilities of each cell from the core and from every other cell. The company describes cell facilities as an increasingly popular alternative to standalone captives, particularly among mid-market businesses. Guernsey pioneered the protected cell company structure and remains a significant centre for captive insurance management and alternative risk transfer. JIM is a GFSC-licensed insurance management firm and a subsidiary of Alpha Growth plc, the London-based insurance-linked asset and wealth management group, which announced the licence on 10 August 2026. JIM provides insurance management and general representative services to international insurers, with particular expertise in long-term life business, branch establishments, and South African and other cross-border mandates. In June 2026, JIM was appointed insurance manager to the Guernsey branch of a South African life insurer.
