Capterra Risk Solutions appoints Nichole McCabe as managing director. McCabe brings more than a decade of experience helping organisations evaluate, design and manage captive insurance and alternative risk financing programmes, spanning domestic and offshore domiciles, a range of captive structures, and clients from privately held businesses through to Fortune 100 companies. McCabe works across captive insurance and alternative risk for companies of all sizes, with a primary focus on the middle market and group captive space. McCabe joins from Straight Arrow Risk Consulting, an advisory firm specialising in alternative risk, captive insurance strategy and risk diagnostics for middle-market and enterprise organisations, which McCabe founded and led as president. Earlier roles include vice president, risk solutions, and senior captive consultant at Brown & Brown, president of Captive Consulting Partners, and vice president and executive underwriter at International Captive Consulting. Capterra is a licensed captive insurance manager in onshore and offshore captive jurisdictions, with team members drawn from underwriting, reinsurance and claims handling backgrounds as well as accounting and finance. The firm branched from Simpson & McCrady, a risk management and brokerage firm.
