MNK International appoints Cooper to lead agricultural specialty expansion

MNK International, the specialist Lloyd's of London broker, appoints Robert Cooper as managing director, aquaculture, livestock and bloodstock, to build out its global agricultural and specialty portfolio. Based in MNK International's London office, Cooper focuses on building a diversified global portfolio spanning aquaculture, livestock and bloodstock, including broader agriculture and farm combined, with a remit to expand into adjacent niche classes. Cooper brings more than a decade of experience across global markets. Cooper joins from Price Forbes, where Cooper spent almost five years as divisional director, building a book of business across livestock, bloodstock and aquaculture. Earlier experience includes a period at Lycetts. The appointment is supported by MNK Group's specialty expertise, integrated managing general agent (MGA) capabilities and entrepreneurial approach, and reflects the broker's ambition to grow in high-value specialist markets as part of its long-term strategy. Naman Kumar, CEO of MNK International, says: "I am very pleased to announce Robert's appointment. He brings a strong track record of building high-performing portfolios from the ground up, including some of the most challenging poultry and disease-related risks in the market. His arrival significantly enhances our capabilities in specialist agricultural lines, from expanding areas such as aquaculture, to wider livestock, bloodstock, and farm combined. This is another important step as we broaden our capabilities, grow into new sectors, and continue delivering first-class services to our customers in complex markets." Cooper says: "I am delighted to join MNK International at a pivotal stage in its growth to lead the development of its aquaculture, livestock and bloodstock offering. The business combines deep market expertise with a sophisticated integrated platform that is particularly well suited to supporting complex specialist risks where capacity can be challenging. I am excited to build a global proposition that brings together top-tier talent, technical expertise, and aligned underwriting support to position the business as a go-to-broker in this space. I look forward to pursuing new opportunities as part of an innovative and differentiated offering for our customers." MNK International, formerly MNK Re, delivers insurance and reinsurance solutions through the Lloyd's of London and international markets, operating from its London headquarters and six global offices and serving clients across more than 170 countries. The broker forms part of MNK Group, which brings together the Lloyd's broker and a network of MGAs in the UK, Italy, US and Middle East, alongside reinsurance companies Mekong Re, Florida Re and MNK Seguros.
