USQRisk promotes Chris Giuffre to president

USQRisk promotes Chris Giuffre to president, effective immediately. With the appointment, Michael Zipper relinquishes the president title but remains co-CEO alongside Parag Bavishi, co-CEO and chief underwriting officer. USQRisk is a managing general underwriter within Ryan Alternative Risk, a division of Ryan Specialty. As president, Giuffre will continue to lead USQRisk's fronting and capital solutions business, applying insurance as an alternative to traditional financial products to create capital efficiencies for clients. Giuffre co-founded USQRisk in 2020, bringing US and UK experience in creating insurtech start-up programmes and developing insurance and specialty finance solutions. Following USQRisk's acquisition by Ryan Specialty in May 2025, he served as chief strategy officer and coordinated the integration of the firm's operations into Ryan Specialty. His earlier career included roles at LeaseLock, World Risk Insurance Solutions, GCube Insurance Services and Energy Risk Solutions. "Chris' proven leadership skills and market presence make him ideal for the role of President as we expand our executive leadership team to meet the growing demand for structured insurance and reinsurance, capital solutions, and fronting risk," Zipper says. "Chris' experience developing unique programs and convergence products align with our growth strategy to affirm our position as a leading alternative risk transfer underwriter." Giuffre adds: "I'm honored to step into this expanded role as President of USQRisk. Since our founding, we have built the business on strong technical and operational expertise, while remaining entrepreneurial in pursuing new opportunities. I look forward to working with our leadership team to build on that foundation, uphold the high standards that define our business, and continue expanding our alternative risk transfer capabilities." USQRisk operates two core divisions, Alternative Risk and Facilities, from offices in New York and London.
