Duffy promoted to group captive practice leader at Old Republic Risk Management

Jim Duffy is promoted to vice president, group captive practice leader at Old Republic Risk Management (ORRM). Duffy has been with ORRM since April 2018 and most recently served as vice president, account executive. The firm credits him with strengthening its presence in the captive marketplace and supporting the continued evolution of its captive offerings, citing his leadership, collaboration and strategic insight. In his account executive role, Duffy specialised in casualty insurance programmes for large corporations and group and single-parent captive programmes. His broader experience spans primary casualty underwriting, excess and surplus general liability underwriting, personal lines distribution and reinsurance broking. Duffy joined ORRM in April 2018 as an account executive in the firm's Greater Milwaukee office, before being promoted to assistant vice president, account executive in May 2019, and to vice president, account executive in December 2021. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Old Republic Risk Management provides primary casualty insurance products to large corporations and group insureds, with capabilities including casualty risk management, captive insurance programmes, high-deductible insurance, fronted programmes and unbundled claims and loss control services. ORRM is a wholly owned subsidiary of Old Republic International Corporation. The promotion follows a series of leadership updates at ORRM in recent months, including the promotion of Paul Carleton to executive vice president and chief client officer, and the promotions of John Lapreay and Chris Weber to senior vice president of business development. Parent group Old Republic International has separately unveiled a refreshed corporate brand and expanded visual identity across its specialty operating companies, with several units adopting new names that more explicitly link them to the wider Old Republic group.
