The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA), the world's largest captive insurance trade association, has opened registration for VCIA 26, its 41st annual conference, to be held 11-13 August 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in South Burlington, Vermont. Registration and hotel block information are available at vcia.com. VCIA 26 is the first annual conference under the leadership of new VCIA President Ian Davis and introduces a new evergreen conference logo alongside a new tagline, "Where the Captive World Comes Together", reflecting Vermont's continued standing as a leading captive domicile. "This conference has always been about learning, connection, and progress," says Davis. "I'm honoured to help build on that legacy as we gather together in Burlington this August." Now in its 41st year, the conference draws more than 1,100 attendees from across the United States and multiple countries. The programme covers emerging risks, market volatility, regulatory developments, tax and compliance, and technology. Most sessions carry professional credits, including National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits, Vermont Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits, and credits from the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE). Ahead of the main conference, a Pre-Conference Captive Immersion session is scheduled for 10 August, designed for both newcomers to the captive space and experienced practitioners seeking a comprehensive refresher. Networking is a central element of the event, bringing together captive owners, risk managers, domicile regulators, attorneys, accountants, consultants, and service providers from around the world. The exhibitor hall, which the VCIA reports is already sold out, showcases the range of captive services and solutions across the industry. Special events include an opening reception, an exhibitor reception, and a Hotel Vermont reception, alongside a closing keynote luncheon. VCIA Board Chair Gail Newman says the event reflects where the industry is heading. "The captive industry continues to grow in sophistication and strategic importance. VCIA 26 is where the people shaping its future come to find each other. We look forward to welcoming the captive world to Burlington this August." Founded in 1985, the VCIA serves a global community of captive owners, risk managers, and professional service providers. Full conference details, including the session schedule, confirmed speakers, and exhibitor listing, are available at vcia.com/conference.
