Enstar and Artex partner on ILS exit solutions

Enstar Group Limited and Artex Capital Solutions announce a strategic arrangement to provide streamlined exit solutions for investors in Artex insurance-linked securities (ILS) transformation vehicles. The partnership offers structured exit solutions designed to enhance liquidity, flexibility, and execution certainty for investors. The arrangement combines Enstar’s legacy and risk management capabilities with Artex’s expertise in the advisory, set up, and management of ILS transactions. Through the agreement, investors gain access to a suite of prospective and retrospective exit products via Cavello Bay Reinsurance Limited, Enstar’s wholly owned subsidiary. Cavello Bay is currently rated ‘A’ (Excellent) by AM Best and ‘A’ by S&P. The suite of solutions includes prospective products, delivered through forward exit options, which provide future liquidity based on pre-defined terms. Retrospective solutions, including novations, loss portfolio transfers, adverse development covers, and the purchase of investor interests, aim to deliver finality on existing exposures. According to the firms, these options are designed to accelerate capital release, reduce trapped capital, and provide balance sheet finality, while mitigating against loss-creep risk. David Ni, chief strategy officer at Enstar, says: “Investors are increasingly seeking greater certainty and flexibility in how they manage their exposures. We are thrilled to work with Artex to respond directly to that need, drawing on our experience in the ILS market and our track record of structuring innovative capital release and risk management solutions.” Kathleen Faries, CEO of Artex Capital Solutions, adds: “This collaboration with Enstar is a significant step in our mission to provide innovative and tailored solutions for our clients. By combining our expertise, we are creating a seamless and efficient process that will redefine exit solutions in the ILS market. Together, we are enabling an efficient way for investors to unlock capital, stabilise earnings, and refocus on core priorities.” Artex is a provider of alternative risk management, reinsurance, and advisory services, operating in more than 35 domiciles internationally. Enstar is a global insurance and reinsurance group focused on retrospective solutions. As of 31 December 2025, the organisation reports total assets of US$21.7 billion and shareholders’ equity of US$5.6 billion.
