Raftopoulos takes managing partner role at Appleby Cayman Islands

Appleby appoints Simon Raftopoulos as managing partner of its Cayman Islands office. Raftopoulos succeeds long-standing leader Norman Klein, who retired on 31 March after 25 years with the firm. In his new position, Raftopoulos oversees teams across corporate, finance, funds, dispute resolution and private client work for a global client base. He is a finance and corporate practitioner in the Cayman Islands. Malcolm Moller, group managing partner at Appleby, says: “Norman Klein hands over leadership of the Cayman office having been instrumental in shaping it into one of Appleby’s flagship jurisdictions and a benchmark for excellence in the market during his tenure. Building on those strong foundations, Simon’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for our Cayman office. He is highly respected across the market and has played a central role in strengthening our corporate and transactional offering.” Raftopoulos comments: “It is a privilege to lead the Cayman office at a time of continued growth and opportunity. We will build on our strong track record to deliver even greater value, at pace, for clients in Cayman and internationally.” As part of the leadership transition, partner Benjamin Woolf becomes head of the firm's corporate practice. Woolf possesses extensive experience across the structured finance sector. Additionally, the firm promotes Susan Fallan and Alexandra Low to partner within the Cayman Islands office. Fallan is promoted within the dispute resolution practice, while Low joins the partnership in the corporate team. Appleby notes that the appointments reflect its continued investment in leadership and the development of talent across key practice areas.
