Wells joins North American Risk Services as head of workers’ compensation

North American Risk Services (NARS) appoints Alice Wells as head of workers’ compensation. Reporting to chief executive officer Robert Ruryk, Wells leads the strategic direction and operational performance of the firm’s workers’ compensation division. In her new role, she manages a team of claims professionals while focusing on enhancing claim outcomes for clients across the US. Wells joins the Lake Mary, Florida-based third-party administrator (TPA) with more than 20 years of experience in claims management and TPA operations. She most recently served in senior executive leadership roles overseeing workers’ compensation and property and casualty (P&C) claims operations. The majority of her career was spent with Johns Eastern Company, where she began as a senior adjuster and progressed through several leadership roles, including claims supervisor, claims manager, and executive director of TPA operations. During her tenure, she led claims organisations supporting both public and private self-insured entities and national insurance carriers. Commenting on the appointment, Ruryk says: “Alice’s proven ability to lead complex claims organisations and deliver measurable results makes her an outstanding addition to our team. Her expertise in workers’ compensation, combined with her strategic vision and leadership experience, will play a critical role in continuing to elevate our service offering and support our long-term growth strategy.” Wells adds: “I am excited to join North American Risk Services and contribute to the continued growth and innovation of its workers’ compensation platform. I look forward to partnering with our talented team and clients to drive impactful results and further enhance the injured worker’s and claims experience.” Wells holds the Associate in Claims and Certification of Workers’ Compensation Litigation Management designations, and is currently pursuing the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter qualification.
