Chow wins PARIMA Next-Gen Risk Takers Challenge

Animus Chow, assistant security operations manager at The Walt Disney Company (Hong Kong) Limited, is named the winner of the Pan-Asia Risk and Insurance Management Association (PARIMA) Next-Gen Risk Takers: Hong Kong Edition. Supported by QBE as title sponsor, the competition provides a platform for emerging risk professionals to share insights and perspectives with a live audience. From a pool of eight applicants, three finalists were selected to deliver 15-minute presentations followed by a live Q&A session before a panel of judges. Joining Chow in the final were Junning Tu, ERM specialist at Aboitiz Foods, and Karson K. C. Tang, assistant manager for enterprise risk at MTR Corporation Limited. As the winner, Chow receives a subsidised trip and the opportunity to speak at the PARIMA Conference in Singapore, scheduled for 14 to 15 October 2026. Commenting on the experience, Chow says: “Winning the challenge is a bonus, but what I truly valued was the experience of learning about different areas of risk management. It gave me the opportunity to speak for my sector, engage with others, and highlight that our profession is just as important and impactful as any other field within risk management.” The competition will continue across Asia throughout 2026, with upcoming editions planned for Taipei, Manila, Mumbai, Penang and Beijing. Winners from each regional edition will compete in a grand final in Singapore to be crowned the Ultimate Next-Gen Risk Taker. The ultimate winner will also be offered a place in the 2027 edition of Equip, QBE’s flagship broker development programme, or an equivalent leadership development programme.
