Stack joins Howden to lead US alternative risk and captives practice

Philip Stack joins Howden as managing director to lead its alternative risk and captives practice in the United States. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Stack is responsible for building the practice from the ground up as Howden continues to expand its retail presence and advisory capabilities in the US market. The new practice provides a range of services including captive consulting, multi-year and structured risk solutions, parametric solutions and fronting evaluation and placement. The team works collaboratively with clients to design integrated solutions tailored to their specific risk profiles. The practice is aligned with Howden’s global platform, allowing for collaboration with colleagues in the UK and internationally. Stack joins the firm from Lockton Companies, where he served for nearly six years, most recently as senior vice president and senior risk finance consultant. Prior to his tenure at Lockton Companies, Stack spent 16 years at Marsh, where he held the position of senior vice president. Commenting on his new role, Stack says: “I’m excited to share that I’ve joined Howden to lead its Alternative Risk & Captive practice, as Howden continues to build its retail presence in the United States. This is a unique opportunity to build a practice from the ground up — one focused on helping clients take a more thoughtful, holistic approach to risk.” He adds: “I am energized by the opportunity to help build something meaningful at Howden and to partner with clients and colleagues as we deliver thoughtful, forward looking risk solutions.”
