Gallagher Re, the global reinsurance broking and advisory firm, appoints Roshan Perera as managing director and head of APAC, and Richard Jones as chairman of APAC. Based in Singapore, Perera most recently served as the leader of the firm’s APAC Strategic Solutions team. In this role, he worked closely with the wider leadership team to develop and implement the regional sales framework. He brings more than 25 years of experience to the position, including two decades in various roles throughout the Asia Pacific region. Jones joins the leadership team having most recently served as chairman of South East Asia, Taiwan and Korea. He brings almost 40 years of reinsurance broking experience and has previously held regional CEO and chair positions. In his new role, Jones will work closely with Perera to execute the growth strategy for Gallagher Re in the region. Commenting on the appointments, Dirk Spenner, international CEO of Gallagher Re, says: “Roshan’s strategic vision and commitment to collaborative leadership coupled with Richard’s deep industry experience and insight make them an excellent fit for these roles.” The updates follow the departure of Mark O’Brien, former head of APAC, who leaves the business to pursue challenges outside of broking. Additionally, Mark Morley, former chairman of APAC and deputy chairman of International, is scheduled to retire.
