AXA XL promotes Alonso Tello to the position of regional director, single-parent captives, Americas. Based in Toronto, Tello previously served as vice president for alternative risk transfer and captives at AXA XL, where he led structured reinsurance business across the Americas and was a member of the Canadian leadership team. He brings more than 15 years of industry experience to the expanded role, with technical expertise spanning property, general liability, marine, and cyber underwriting. The promotion reflects a strategic focus on driving growth and innovation for single-parent captive solutions throughout the Americas region. Prior to joining AXA XL in 2018, Tello held several underwriting and management roles at Zurich Insurance Company, specialising in international programmes.
