Group captive insurance specialist BeneRe appoints Eric Runci as national director of captive programs. Based in Roswell, Georgia, Runci joins the firm with nearly 20 years of experience across pharmacy benefits, voluntary benefits and distribution strategy. His background includes leading consultative sales efforts centred on lowering pharmacy spend through plan design, rebate strategies and data-driven solutions. BeneRe operates a group captive model for supplemental benefits, including accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity coverage. The firm provides transparency regarding claims, commissions and expenses while returning underwriting gains to employers for reinvestment in employee benefit programmes. Prior to joining BeneRe, Runci spent nearly nine years at Amwins, most recently serving as vice president of sales at Amwins Rx. His tenure at Amwins also included the role of vice president of sales for the voluntary benefits practice, where he partnered with carriers to streamline billing and administrative functions. Runci also previously held positions at Allstate Benefits as a senior consultant for enrollment partner development and at Aflac, where he served as senior enrollment firm development manager for the broker channel. A spokesperson for BeneRe says: “Throughout his career, Eric has worked closely with broker and TPA partners to deliver customised benefit solutions, leveraging enrollment technology, billing capabilities, and clinical programs across commercial and Medicare populations”. The firm adds: “Known for challenging the status quo and prioritising alignment over complexity, Eric brings a perspective that fits squarely with BeneRe’s mission”.
