FERMA launches Next Gen European Risk Council

The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) launches the Next Gen European Risk Council, a flagship initiative designed to provide visibility and a strong European voice to the next generation of risk leaders. Launching in April 2026, the council aims to bring together young risk managers from across Europe to help shape the future of the profession, foster innovation and strengthen cross-border collaboration. The council is open to candidates with three to five years of professional experience in risk or insurance management who are under 35 on 31 December 2026. Applicants must demonstrate fluency in English and have the full support of both their employer and their national risk management association. Members of the council will receive high-level training from leading risk management professionals and participate in two funded in-person meetings throughout the year. Participants will also contribute to a flagship paper to be presented at the FERMA Forum in Rotterdam at the end of 2026. Applications should be submitted via national associations, following their specific instructions. For candidates in countries without a national association, applications may be sent directly to FERMA by 11 March 2026. FERMA will announce the final selection on Wednesday, 18 March 2026. Application materials must include a CV and a short motivation item, which can be an email, letter or a video of no more than two minutes. FERMA covers hotel accommodation, meeting venues and meals during working sessions, while travel costs are met by the participants, their employer or their national association.
