MDD, the forensic accounting arm of Davies, launches MDDi, an AI-enabled platform designed to support the handling of low-value, high-volume business interruption (BI) claims. Developed in-house by Davies’ technology team and MDD experts, the platform combines forensic accounting expertise with artificial intelligence to automatically extract and analyse BI data from documents. The solution aims to streamline non-manufacturing claims processing while tackling common challenges such as manual workflows, limited transparency and unpredictable adjustment costs. MDDi provides a real-time user experience with virtually instantaneous measurement results and a transparent cost structure. A hybrid support model is available, allowing users to engage with both the AI platform and MDD’s forensic accountants for cases requiring deeper financial analysis or expert insight. Marcelo Fazio, chief innovation and growth officer of MDD, says: “We’ve designed MDDi, in conjunction with Davies’ in-house technology team, to address common challenges in managing high-volume, low-value BI claims. It helps optimise processes that are often manual and unpredictable, improving transparency and reducing delays in communication.” Fazio adds: “By providing real-time insights and scalable workflows, MDDi supports a more consistent and efficient claims experience. Additionally, several of its features have potential applications beyond claims, offering opportunities to enhance other areas of the customer journey over time.” The launch aligns with Davies’ Vision 2030 strategy, unveiled at the start of 2025 by group CEO Dan Saulter. Under the strategy, the firm plans to double its investment in technology and AI to create smarter and more efficient claims processing. Davies acquired MDD in 2024 as part of its expansion into specialist professional services and technology for the insurance market.
