Chestnut Hill Insurance Group has launched Chestnut Hill Wealth Management, effective 1 January 2026. The new entity targets high-net-worth and institutional clients, specifically including captive insurance companies. The launch is part of a broader strategy to provide a suite of integrated services to business owners. The Rhode Island-based group’s legacy financial business has provided approximately US$55 million in assets under management (AUM) as seed money to start the operation. Greg Agnone, founder of Chestnut Hill Insurance Group, says: “We see this as a perfect dovetail to our existing insurance group since we are working with business owners on a daily basis who can benefit from multiple Chestnut Hill offerings.” The group is currently seeking a Series 65 or 66 representative, preferably a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with existing contacts in the captive and institutional space, to join the new subsidiary. In addition to the wealth management launch, Chestnut Hill continues to build out its agency group and managing general agent (MGA) operations. The firm aims to launch its own captive later this year. Agnone notes that a primary challenge has been finding agents willing to take risk on their books of business, stating: “The irony is mind numbing since these same people are selling risk-bearing programmes to their clients.” Over the next five years, Chestnut Hill plans to establish separate divisions for insurance, investments, tax planning, estate planning, retirement plans and financial planning.
