Captive Resources promotes Ian McCafferty to assistant vice president (AVP), captive executive. McCafferty has been with the Chicago-based firm for more than seven years, most recently serving as AVP, associate captive executive since August 2024. In his new role, McCafferty oversees the development and management of two member-owned group captive insurance companies, representing a combined annual premium of more than US$100 million. His responsibilities include managing captive strategy and financial performance, as well as utilising actuarial techniques to analyse new business loss picks and make pricing recommendations. He also collaborates with brokers to market the captive concept to prospective members. McCafferty joined Captive Resources in December 2018 as a programme coordinator, before moving into roles as senior programme coordinator and associate programme manager. Prior to joining the firm, McCafferty served as a brokerage assistant at RT Specialty and completed a commercial insurance and risk management internship with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
