The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) announces it will feature a dedicated captive regulator educational programme at its 2026 International Conference. The training initiative aims to strengthen regulatory expertise and professional development across the captive insurance industry. CICA notes the programme reflects its commitment to advancing best practices and providing regulators with the knowledge necessary to oversee captive insurance operations effectively. The training is restricted to captive domicile regulators only. CICA has collaborated with the regulatory community to develop education specifically tailored to the unique challenges they face, including the growing complexity of captive structures and the evolving regulatory landscape. CICA president Daniel Towle says: “CICA is proud to partner with the captive insurance regulatory community to provide training at our international conference that will help meet the needs of captive regulators.” He adds: “This training will be offered to captive domicile regulators only, and we have worked closely with this dedicated group to provide the education they deem necessary for the continued strength of the industry.” The initiative is designed to enhance regulatory understanding of governance and risk frameworks while promoting excellence and consistency across jurisdictions to reduce regulatory uncertainty. Additionally, it aims to create a platform for dialogue between regulators and industry professionals to address emerging issues and share insights. “Qualified and experienced regulators are the backbone of the captive insurance ecosystem,” Towle comments. “Our training programme aims to equip regulators with the resources and expertise to navigate complex issues while supporting the continued growth and innovation of captives.” The regulator training will include expert-led discussions. Further details regarding the programme content are expected to be announced in early 2026.
