Dana Hentges Sheridan is appointed chief captives compliance counsel for Accession Risk Management Group and Brown & Brown. The promotion follows Brown & Brown’s acquisition of Accession in August 2025. In her new role, Hentges Sheridan oversees compliance for Accession, the parent brand to specialty insurance and risk management companies including core operating platforms Risk Strategies and One80 Intermediaries. Hentges Sheridan previously served as general counsel for the captives division at Accession Risk Management Group from August 2023 until January 2026. With 30 years of experience in the insurance field, Hentges Sheridan began her career representing commercial insurers as a litigator. Her background includes trial experience in cases involving insurance coverage, bad faith, and broker errors and omissions (E&O), as well as administrative proceedings between captives and state insurance regulators. Hentges Sheridan previously served as founder and principal advisor of CIRA Solutions, LLC, and spent nearly three years as deputy general counsel at Acrisure. Her experience also includes more than eight years as general counsel and chief compliance officer at Active Captive Management, LLC. A recognised figure in the sector with several industry accolades, Hentges Sheridan is a member of the California and Minnesota State Bars and previously served as chair of the regulatory sub-committee of the ABA’s Captive Committee. Commenting on her new position via LinkedIn, Hentges Sheridan says: “In August, 2025 Accession Risk Management Group joined the Brown & Brown family. I’m excited to share that I’ve started the new year in a new position as Accession and B&B’s Chief Captives Compliance Counsel.”
