Alera Group has promoted Griff Gatewood to managing principal for Michigan. Based in Grand Rapids, Gatewood is responsible for leading a team focused on commercial insurance, surety and alternative risk financing strategies. Gatewood has been with Alera Group (formerly Lighthouse Group) for more than 11 years. He most recently served as senior vice president and shareholder, where he focused on designing tailored financing structures for the construction, manufacturing, energy and private equity sectors. His expertise includes the design and implementation of group, rental and single-parent captives aimed at creating long-term cost stability and control for clients. Prior to his role as senior vice president, Gatewood held several positions within the firm, including vice president, associate vice president and account executive for commercial insurance. Commenting on his new role via LinkedIn, Gatewood says: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Managing Principal, Michigan at Alera Group, Inc.!” He adds: “Our approach challenges the status quo.
