Why say, “Show-Me Missouri” before you domicile?
Stability by Design
After the enactment of Missouri’s Captive Insurance Law in 2027, John Rehagen became the first Captive Manager. He now oversees DCI’s Insurance Company Regulation Division, which manages traditional and captive insurance programs.
His vision of supporting the business community can be seen throughout the captive team. This group of experienced professionals understand the state captive insurance laws, work hard to regulate without over-regulating, and encourages continuous captive growth. This regulatory balance is why Missouri is the place where captives grow strong.
The Cost of Doing Business
The cost of doing business for government is no different than for a company. You must bring funds in to pay for expenses, such a direct labor cost or sub-contract the work and pass that extra cost onto your costumes.
In Missouri, we have an application and annual renewal fee, which is 100% deductible from next year’s premium tax; and there are no hidden or additional cost.
By having the funds to maintain a trained in-house team that can perform everything from application to examination increases your ability to have:
• Calls answered or responded too in a timely manner;
• Regulatory filings reviewed faster;
• Reasonable examination cost,
All priorities as part of protecting your success.
So, when you look at the cost of doing business in a domicile, check on availability and the range of services provided in-house, because domiciling in Missouri is a positive return on investment.
