The bill provides an update to the state’s cell legislation, enabling a captive insurance company to be converted into an unincorporated cell, with all of its assets, rights, benefits, obligations and liabilities remaining unaffected by the process.
The conference is America’s biggest captive event, where attendees can expect to participate in networking, education sessions and business opportunities.
The state is known as the largest captive domicile in the US, followed by Utah and North Carolina, holding 439 and 311 respectively.
The state currently hosts 311 captive entities, up from 294 in 2022, with Utah holding 439 and Vermont licensing 659.
Titled ‘The Balancing Act of Captive Management’, the event will address inflationary challenges that insurance companies face.
The negative outlooks are based on the declining trend in Vermont Mutual’s risk-adjusted capitalisation in recent years, which has created pressure on its overall balance sheet assessment.
The event, tailored to prospective captive insurance companies, has been hosted in more than 20 cities, including Mexico City.
