Hudson joins SiriusPoint board of directors

SiriusPoint has announced that Martin Hudson will join the board of directors, with the company highlighting his four decades of international reinsurance leadership, spanning underwriting, risk management, governance, and executive management as key facets in the appointment.

He has served as an independent non-executive director and chair of the board for a multitude of companies, including SiriusPoint International Insurance.

Moreover, Hudson currently serves as independent non-executive director at Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe, in addition to serving on the board of Apollo Syndicate Management, MS Amlin Underwriting, Novae Syndicates, and Old Mutual Specialty Insurance.

Previously, Hudson has held senior executive positions at Travelers Insurance, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance, and Old Mutual Specialty Insurance, with his leadership experience encompassing wholesale and retail insurance, specialty and reinsurance markets, in conjunction with global operations across the US, UK, Europe, Canada, and Asia.

Bronek Masojada, chair of the board, says: “Martin brings an exceptional track record in underwriting leadership, governance, and board stewardship across a number of organisations in our industry.”

Masojada also believes that “his experience of working with businesses through both challenging remediation phases and successful growth strategies will be invaluable”.

Commenting on the move, Hudson says he is “delighted to be joining the board of SiriusPoint,” citing the company’s “strong platform, a clear strategy, and significant growth opportunities” as his reasoning.
