Skyward Specialty Insurance Group has appointed Corey LaFlamme as president of its captives and specialty programmes divisions.
The company says the move is part of a broader leadership transition aimed at accelerating growth in what it considers one of the most dynamic areas of the specialty insurance market.
LaFlamme joins from The Hartford, where he most recently held the role of head of programmes. He brings more than two decades of experience in specialty insurance, including building strong partner relationships and driving underwriting performance.
Skyward Specialty also announces that Kirby Hill, who has led the growth of the captives and specialty programmes divisions, will take on the role of chairman.
In his new position, Hill will focus on business development, strategic relationships and mentoring, while continuing to support the divisions' leadership.
Andrew Robinson, chairman and CEO of Skyward Specialty, says LaFlamme's leadership "aligns perfectly with our vision to expand and lead in the captives and specialty programmes markets".
He adds: "At the same time, I want to recognise the impact Kirby has had in building this business into the true market contender it is. His continued involvement as chairman will be instrumental in supporting Corey and ensuring that we accelerate our momentum."
