Aon bolsters Bermuda’s reinsurance platform with five new hires

Aon has expanded its reinsurance platform in Bermuda by adding five new team members.
The firm appoints Jemma Henry and Lawrence Cheng as managing directors, while Libby Sargent, George Burles and Sonal Ohrie have joined as vice presidents.

The expanded team will report to James Ramamurthy, head of Global ReSpecialty Bermuda at Aon, with Ramamurthy reporting to Roman Romeo, CEO of Reinsurance Solutions Bermuda at Aon.

The company says the move will bolster its on-island capabilities in global specialty lines, especially in property specialty retrocession. It will also accelerate the growth of its local facultative and captive reinsurance platforms, aligning with teams in London and the US.

Commenting on the appointments, Romeo remarks: “Through this scaled and highly-engaged team, we are increasing the scope of our Bermuda operations and positioning in the market as the leading destination for Aon’s Bermuda-domiciled reinsurance clients, who now have access to even more capabilities, both locally and through Aon’s global network.”

Rupert Moore, UK CEO of Reinsurance Solutions at Aon, adds: “Aon’s London and New York reinsurance teams will continue to collaborate closely with our Bermuda colleagues to deliver additional value to clients.”
