BMS Re, the specialty reinsurance arm of global broker BMS Group, has named Brad Melvin as president and CEO, US, effective from November.
Melvin will report to group CEO Nick Cook, and lead BMS Re US’s operations, with a focus on delivering strategic goals and driving growth across its MGA, regional specialty, facultative reinsurance, healthcare, capital solutions and advisory lines.
He joins from Aon Reinsurance Solutions, where he was president of the US regional insurer group and global insurance vertical leader. He was also a member of AON Re’s global executive committee and leadership team, and Aon Corporation’s executive leadership team.
Prior to that, he had held executive leadership and client development roles at Gen Re and CNA Financial.
In the interim, Cook and Andrew Wheeler, president and co-CEO of BMS Group, will continue to lead the business, supported by Chris Brook, US executive committee member and group chief operating officer.
