Chubb has named Peter Kelaher as division president of Continental Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, effective from 1 September. Kelaher succeeds Sara Mitchell, who will be leaving Chubb.
He currently serves as country president of Australia and New Zealand. In his new role, Kelaher will have executive operating responsibility for 24 countries in the region.
Based in Paris, he will report to David Furby, senior vice president of Chubb and regional president of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
He joined Chubb Australia in 2007 as a senior underwriter, and has since held different senior roles in Australia and New Zealand. Kelaher began his career as a financial lines underwriter for AIG in Australia.
Commenting on the appointment, Furby says: "Peter brings more than 20 years of experience, including more than 15 years at Chubb, to this important role within the region.
“I look forward to working with him to continue the development of our business throughout Continental Europe, the Middle East, and Africa."
