Sompo has named Bill Zhang as president of Consumer Lines in Asia Pacific, effective from 7 August.
Based in Singapore, Zhang will report to Kenneth Reilly, Sompo CEO of Insurance in Asia Pacific. He will lead the consumer lines strategy and operating model, as well as develop talent and capabilities across the region.
He joins Sompo from AIG, where he worked for more than 12 years, most recently leading the SME segment, and accident and health portfolio in Japan. He began his career in 2006 as an actuarial analyst in Toronto and has experience in North America and Asia Pacific with skill sets across pricing, data analytics, products, and distribution.
