Swiss Re has promoted Andreas Berger to group CEO, having previously served as CEO at the company for the last five years.
Berger will take over from Christian Mumenthaler, who stepped down as group CEO after serving 25 years at Swiss Re.
He has almost three decades of experience in the insurance industry and is currently chairman of the International Insurance Society.
Commenting on the appointment, the company says: “Under [Andreas’] leadership, we will continue to enhance the world’s resilience.”
Berger states: “As I take on this new challenge, my focus remains on fostering a culture of achievement, execution, and results while upholding the values that have defined Swiss Re for over 160 years. I am excited to work with all of you to continue our success story and make the world more resilient.”
