AXIS’s underwriting head Robson to retire

Alistair Robson, head of underwriting for AXIS Global Markets and chief underwriting officer of AXIS Managing Agency, has decided to retire.

He will leave AXIS at the end of June 2024 after 13 years with the company and a 39-year career in insurance.

This move has prompted a series of promotions within AXIS Global Markets that will come into effect on 1 July.

Rory MacGregor, divisional head of non-marine, will be promoted to head of underwriting.

Steve Cross, head of construction, will succeed MacGregor as head of non-marine, and Anna Woolley, senior construction underwriter, will replace Cross’s position.

Mark Gregory, head of AXIS Global Markets, comments: “We thank Robson for his leadership and contribution to AXIS and the wider industry, and congratulate MacGregor, Cross and Woolley on their promotions.”
