Munich Re names Wilkens as new CEO for Canada
Munich Re has appointed Klaus Wilkens as president and CEO of its subsidiary in Canada and its affiliate, Temple Insurance Company.
Wilkens will lead the operation of Munich Re’s non-life reinsurance business in Canada.
With the Canadian insurance and reinsurance market facing numerous challenges, Munich Re notes that Wilkens is poised to lead the company’s efforts to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities.
The new CEO joined the company in 1995 as an underwriter in Casualty Facultative and was promoted to client management executive in 2008, managing non-life reinsurance business in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and the Nordic countries.
