HDI Global SE (HDI) has appointed David Vigier as chief commercial officer.
In addition, Vigier will gradually succeed Etiene de Varax as head of captives alongside his new role.
Vigier will report to Jean-Marie Haquette, managing director for HDI Global France.
Vigier has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, joining HDI Global in September 2023 as director of captive services and claim strategy.
Vigier joined HDI from Erget Group after previously holding leadership roles among others at Sanlam Pan Africa, Europcar Mobility Group and AIG.
Commenting on the appointment, Haquette says: “[Vigier] combines expertise in sales, distribution, and captive services. Together with his team, he will ensure that we fulfil the high expectations our clients and broker partners have with regard to our services and innovative insurance solutions, whether traditional or alternative offerings.”
Vigier states: “We want to be the partner in the transformation for our clients on their way to establishing or developing a successful captive. This is of particular importance in the context of the new French legislation in favour of domestic captives.”
