Rob Humphries has joined law firm’s Honigman LLP’s insurance practice group as partner.
Humphries has more than 15 years of legal experience in captive insurance. He is dual-qualified as a Cayman Islands and US attorney, bringing corporate and transactional insurance experience gained from a succession of roles to the firm.
His practice focuses on a broad range of insurance, reinsurance and captive insurance work. This includes mergers and acquisitions, structuring, formations, corporate governance and ongoing regulatory advice.
Relocating to Colorado, Humphrey joins the group from UK-based firm Velocity Global, where he was a consultant.
Previously, he worked as counsel for law firm Conyers, managing associate for Bedell Cristin and attorney at Higgs & Johnson, all in the Cayman Islands.
Humphries is a regular speaker at insurance industry conferences and events.
Commenting on the appointment, Julie Robertson, leader of Honigman’s insurance practice group, says: "[Humphries’] experience in the Cayman Islands and in the US, where he manages complex international insurance matters and represents captive insurance companies, will add value to our group and further expand our service offerings."
